Education Beyond The Classroom

Instead of a teacher, a coach. Instead of a classroom, a field. Instead of a test, a game. The athletic experience at SPHS is as valuable as the academics. Our athletic programs motivate students to experience the benefits of team unity, the value of a competitive spirit, and the thrill of individual accomplishment. S.P.H.S's athletic programs have a long and triumphant history, and our BULL SHARKS (tentative) have earned a well-deserved reputation as strong competitors and outstanding sportsmen and women.
San Pedro High School (SPHS) Athletics fields teams in 5 sports offered by the National Secondary School Sports Association (NSSSA). SPHS is a member of the highly competitive Northern Regional Teachers Association (NSTA). In addition to varsity teams, who play various sports in a Club or house system?

The philosophy of the Athletic Department is no different than the mission statement of the school. Athletics are considered to be an extension of the academic school day. All of our coaches are expected to be teachers who not only teach proper techniques of their sport, but who also work to build character and prepare young men and women to carry the values they learn at SPHS into their adult life. The Athletic Department believes that participation in sports provides a wealth of opportunities and experiences. If you have any questions regarding our program, please contact the Athletic Department at 0115012262045 if calling from the USA and 2262045 from Belize.
